What kind of photographer am I?
I am a portrait photographer. I specialize in Senior, Family, and Engagement Portraits. I love taking pictures of people! I strive to have beautiful environmental backdrops for your portraits. I am looking to capture real feelings and emotions while shooting. With me as your photographer we will laugh, play, be silly and have a great time. Taking family pictures can be a stressful thing and I want to put you at ease. Please don't tell your kids to smile, that's my job. If there happens to be a break down thats OK! Those moments can also make amazing photographs and I am good at distracting and redirecting when things get chaotic. Let me take control and you just sit back and enjoy your family. I fall somewhere in between traditional photography and lifestyle photography. I will always take shots that grandma will love, but I also like to capture the in between moments that really show connection and make your photographs special.
Where will my session be held?
Sessions are held in an outdoor location of your choosing throughout Orange County, CA. There are many parks, beaches and urban areas that are great for photo shoots. Usually, I suggest that you think of a place that is meaningful for you or your family. A special place is a great way to make the perfect back drop for your photographs. If you do not live in Orange County I can come to you. I love to travel! Contact me for pricing.
What should I wear?
Definitely pick something that makes you feel GREAT and is comfortable! Steer clear of bold prints, graphics, and neon colors. They will be distracting in the photograph and date your pictures pretty quickly. For family portraits, finding a color scheme is a good starting point. Stay away from matching outfits (everyone wearing khakis and white shirts like back in the day). Pinterest is a great place to look for outfit ideas. Another thing to look our for is to make sure the clothes fit your family well. Kids grow pretty quickly and it will be very obvious if their clothes are too small or too baggy. The most important thing is to keep the attention on the connections, not the clothes. I can help you out with any ideas, don't hesitate to ask!
How many pictures will we receive?
The package you purchase will depend on how many pictures are included in the session. Please refer to the Session Info for the quantity included in each photo shoot. I lightly edit phots from your session for you to choose. Once all your favorites have been selected I will edit each one individually and upload them to your personal gallery. Any additional files not included in the session fee are $25 each.
Will I get the digital photos from my session?
Yes! You will receive a link that will take you to your photo gallery. There you will be able to download the high resolution digital files straight to your computer. A print release is included so you can print the copyrighted images at any printer. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, when you print your files print them straight from your client gallery (it's linked to my preferred printer) or from another professional printer of your choice. You have now invested in professional photos, printing them in the right place makes all the difference in quality (NOT Walmart, Costco, CVS, or Walgreens etc). Locally, Samy's Camera in Costa Mesa or Pro Photo in Irvine are two places I recommend. Persnickety Prints is a wonderful on-line printer that gets rave reviews and I have used many times. You are also able to download low resolution phots to share on social media. When posting to Facebook or Instagram please tag me AND give me photo credits. When will we get our photos?
About one week after your photoshoot you will be able to view your images in a gallery on this website and choose the photographs that you would like to purchase. After you have selected the images you want, I will edit and download them to an online gallery link within 2-3 weeks. You can download all the photos from the gallery. I supply both high resolution photos for printing and low resolution photos for sharing on social media.
How far out do you book?
I book six months out. I only do a limited number of photo shoots per month so it's best to plan ahead. Be aware that Spring is a busy time for Seniors who are graduating and Fall is busy for families getting ready for Christmas cards - so plan ahead during these times.
Do you travel outside of Orange County?
Absolutely! For a small fee I will travel to San Diego County and Los Angeles County. Also, I am willing to travel anywhere. Fees will be set on a case by case basis. I love to travel so hit me up!
